STRAND #18 | Developing Reading Comprehension for Children in Prekindergarten to Grade 2 at Tier One or Core Instruction

Dr. Katherine Dougherty Stahl | November 2, 4 pm-November 16, 2016 5:15 pm

This three-part webinar series will address how teachers can increase the effectiveness of teacher read-alouds, shared reading of complex texts, and small group reading of instructional level texts for developing the comprehension of young children. The important role of discussions, vocabulary development, strategy instruction, text selection, writing, and engaging content will be featured.

In addition, teachers are seeing many young children hit comprehension thresholds that were previously only visible among older readers. This webinar series will conclude with practical suggestions for implementing research-based comprehension interventions in the primary grades. Click here for an event flyer
