Allegany-Limestone Central School District

Allegany-Limestone Middle is a public school (grades 6-8) in the Allegany-Limestone Central School District in New York’s Southern Tier, close to the New York/Pennsylvania border.  Located in Allegany, a rural town in Cattaraugus County 18 miles west of Salamanca, the school falls a short distance from the Allegany State Park and the Allegheny River.

In 2015-2016, 299 students were enrolled at Allegany-Limestone Middle.  The student body is predominately white (92%) and 37% of the school’s population is considered economically disadvantaged.  Approximately 10% of students receive special education services and the average class size is 20 students. RTI/MTSS Purpose Statement
The purpose of the RtI process at our middle school is…to implement and maintain a data-driven decision-making process focused on a student-centred culture of accountability and collaboration with a growth mindset.


SMART Goals

  • By 2020, 70% of our grade 6-8 students will be reading on grade level according to final I-Ready diagnostic assessment and NYS ELA Assessment.
  • By 2018, 100% of grade 6-8 core and special education teachers will be provided with professional development regarding the RtI Framework including the tiers of supports.  
  • By 2019, 100% of grade 6-8 core and special education teachers will implement the tiered RtI system, based on data, within their classroom through differentiation.
