Queensbury Middle is a public school (6-8) located in Queensbury, a relatively small suburban town located in the eastern region of New York, about an hour north of Albany in Warren County.

The student population is predominantly White (95%) and about 13% receive special education services. It is part of the Queensbury Union Free School District and provided educational services to 719 students in grades 6 through 8 during this school year. The student population is predominantly White (93%) with a small percentage of students who are Hispanic or Latino (2%), Multiracial (2%), Asian or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander (2%) or Black or African American (1%).  About 17% of the school's population receive special education services and no students are considered to be English Language Learners. Approximately, 37% of students who attend Queensbury MS are considered economically disadvantaged and 1% are homeless. The average class size is 23. RTI/MTSS Purpose Statement
The purpose of the RtI process at our middle school is… to ensure that our students achieve their fullest academic potential, utilizing a multi-tiered system of support.


SMART Goals

  • Provided PD to all staff about the MTSS process by October, 2017.
  • Researched and Implemented a universal screening process to identify student needs by January 2018.
  • Defined what constitutes Tier I, II, and III student needs - have a menu of interventions for each Tier and inform all stakeholders (including students and parents) 2018-19.
  • Developed fluid systems of entrance and exist for each by Tier 2017-18.
