RTI/MTSS Mission/Purpose Statement
The mission of the MTSS program at the Brooklyn Science and Engineering Academy is to create systems to support all staff in providing differentiated, research-based, high-quality instruction that is matched to our students’ specific needs as identified by assessment data.

SMART Goals

  • BSEA will develop an ELA and Math RtI curriculum to address three of the highest leverage standards and related skills based on the 2017 NYS Exam. The curriculum will result in supporting students in making a 15% increase in the number of correct responses related to those standards on benchmark and state exam by June 2018.
  • BSEA will screen students using Aimsweb and the iReady diagnostic to identify the students who require each tier intervention. By June 2018, we will increase the number of students only requiring tier 1 interventions by 10%
  • 100% of BSEA teachers will meet collaboratively three times per year to analyze the RtI data. By June 2018, BSEA will develop a handbook of strategies for each tier of intervention.
