Beach Street Middle, a suburban public school, serves students in grades 6-8 in the East Moriches Union Free School District. Situated on the South Shore of Long Island, the middle school is located in the hamlet of West Islip, a census-designated place in the town of Islip in Suffolk County, New York.

School Demographics 2016-2017

Beach Street Middle served 537 students in grades 6-8 during the 2016-2017 school year. The student body is predominately white (85%), but also includes students who are Hispanic or Latino (11%), Multiracial (2%) and Asian or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander (1%). In the middle school, 14% of the population is considered economically disadvantaged. Of the school’s total population, 18% receive special education services.  Further, there are currently no English Language Learners enrolled at the school.  Other demographic information is available on the NYS Report Card.
